Hi guys,

I've never been a vendor at an art/craft festival before, so I have a hoard of questions. Are you guys able to do this for a living, or just on the side? What festivals should I try to sign up for and which to avoid (I live in North Carolina if anyone has experience specifically with the southeast)? I know that there is sales tax to deal with, but what other taxes do you have to figure in? Do you generally have to go along with that standard fireproof tent...and if so what is the best place to pick one up? What supplies do you need to have...do you have to have some kind of cash/credit card register (and where is the best place to look for everything)? Can you expect to earn back fees and supply costs for each event? How do you figure what to charge for artwork? Anything else you can think of would be helpful and appreciated. I've looked up some information online, but I still feel lost. Plus...I have a very skeptical fiance who drives me crazy bringing up every obstacle he can imagine happening and thinks it will be a complete waste of money. I just want to be realistic and know what I would be getting into.
