Hullo I just stumbled into tribe.net I've got a website for sharing ideas for booths, tents, displays, signs, and storage for merchants at historic-themed events. historicgames.com/merchideas/index2.html

Re: Historic Merchants Ideas website
Sat, January 7, 2006 - 9:04 AMVery cool!
My booths, other than the EZ-up, are entirely constructed from recycled pallets and assorted trash. Unfortunately we haven't figured out a way to make the carts flod down to nothing so I can fit them in my car!
One of my friends keeps talking about creating EZ-up COstumes, but hasn't gotten around to actually doing the math and making one. -

Re: Historic Merchants Ideas website
Sat, January 7, 2006 - 9:16 AMHere's a couple other merchants' groups I haven't added to the links of the ideas site
Ren faire Merchants "a open discussion list for merchants on the renaissance circuit. " groups.yahoo.com/group/ren...merchants/
In case there's any cross-over merchants around here's an SCA merchants' Yahoo group "To share experiences making and selling in the SCA community." groups.yahoo.com/group/sca_merchants/
Both are fairly low volume so they won't clog your mailbox with discussions. -

Re: Historic Merchants Ideas website
Sat, January 7, 2006 - 3:04 PMI hate the way yahoo sends out an email for every single comment, when one is in a group there.
I can't keep up with the stuff that comes into my inbox as it is. I prefer reading stuff on tribe. *MUCH* easier to deal with. -

Re: Historic Merchants Ideas website
Sat, January 7, 2006 - 3:09 PMYou can always go "no email" on any Yahoo group and read the archives. No clutter, no mess. -

Re: Historic Merchants Ideas website
Sun, January 8, 2006 - 7:40 AMYeah, if you use the tiny "edit membership" link for the Yahoo group you're in it will lead you to a page that offers these options:
# Individual emails - Receive individual messages.
# Daily digest - Receive a daily compilation of many emails in one message.
# Special notices - Receive only important email notices from the group moderator.
# No email - I'll read messages on the web site. -

AH! Thanks. It *must* be really TINY, because I've never seen it before. Now I'll know to look for it. :)
